Journal #32

Memorable learning experience...

One of the most memorable learning experience for me was when I went on the STN trip in California. The whole trip was a learning experience for me. Having to do the sweet sixteen at a place that wasn't familiar to me, was a learning experience. Finding a story in a certain amount of time, editing it, trying to finishing in 16 hours was stressful but I learned how to use my time wisely and make sure you double check everything. Other then the sweet 16 the break out sessions were helpful and I learned a lot from. Those breakouts taught me the process of finishing a good quality product.

Vision of Ideal School...

My vision of an ideal school is a school that doesn't grade based on standard based grading I would grade students based on percentage averages they get on the assignments they turned in. Maybe that way students will have higher GPA's. It'll still show that students understand the assignment just by doing the assignment and based on their scores. Giving students tests but giving them different versions of the test on the same topic will show if they understand it or not. I would change the graduation requirements,I would eliminate the requirement of having to have 2 foreign language credits. Other than that my ideal school will still be teaching the same thing their teaching today, math, history, english and the same electives they have today. And the classes that prepare students for the real world will still be at the school.
